Impressed Current Anodes
Protect critical infrastructure from corrosion with high-performance Seaguard Impressed Current Anodes, engineered to deliver proven protection for marine, offshore, and underground environments—even in the harshest conditions.
Durable Protection for the Most Demanding Environments
CMP supplies a wide range of anodes designed for use in Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems. These systems deliver direct current through carefully selected anodes to protect steel structures in marine, offshore, and underground environments from corrosion.
We manufacture Seaguard anodes in two primary categories:
-
Silicon-Iron Anodes
-
MMO (Mixed Metal Oxide) Activated Titanium Anodes
Silicon-Iron Anodes
Seaguard Silicon-Iron anodes offer an economical and highly stable solution for ICCP systems. They are engineered to withstand the corrosive effects of aggressive acids and alkalis. For environments with high chloride content, such as seawater or certain soils, we offer a silicon-iron alloy enhanced with chromium—reducing anode consumption while improving performance.
Key Options:
-
Silicon-Iron Anodes
-
Prepackaged Silicon-Iron Anodes
-
Tubular Fe-Si Anodes (advanced design for deep well ground beds)
Features:
-
Excellent resistance to corrosion and aggressive environments
-
Chromium-enhanced alloys available for high-chloride soils and seawater
-
Low electrical resistance cable-anode junction (less than 5 mOhm)
-
Supplied with 3 m double-insulated cable (0.6/1 kV, 1×10 mm² section)
Prepackaged Options:
Canistered Silicon-Iron anodes are built with a galvanized steel outer shell for ease of transport, installation, and handling. Standard canisters are filled with SAFECOKE (low-moisture calcined petroleum coke) to ensure long-term storage (up to 8 months).
Tubular Fe-Si Anodes:
The latest generation tubular design offers:
-
Central connection that eliminates “necking end” effects
-
Improved current distribution across the anode
-
Expanded midsection to protect connections
MMO Activated Titanium Anodes
Seaguard MMO (Mixed Metal Oxide) activated titanium anodes deliver exceptional durability and performance across a broad range of applications. A thin ceramic oxide coating is applied to a ductile titanium substrate, producing an anode with outstanding resistance to both oxygen and chlorine evolution.
Applications:
Suitable for use in fresh water, sea water, brackish water, mud, and coke/soil environments—ideal for harsh offshore and deep well applications.
Features:
-
Extremely low dissolution rates
-
Abrasion and corrosion resistance
-
Long life expectancy—up to 20 years at rated current (longer at reduced outputs)
-
Available in standard and high-current versions
-
Custom formulations and long-life versions available on request
Materials:
The proprietary mixed metal oxide coating includes iridium, tantalum, and titanium oxides, delivering unmatched stability at high current densities.
Prepackaged Options:
Canistered MMO Titanium anodes come with a galvanized steel casing and are filled with SAFECOKE for extended shelf life (up to 8 months).
